[Sold! This pen is staying in California!] Dubonnet Red Eversharp Skyline – Fine nib

Here is a very nice Eversharp Skyline for you to check out. This pen dates to the early 40’s. The transparent section only appeared on the earlier Skylines. In the 40’s plastic was still a very new technology, and plastics were not as durable as they are now. Eversharp began using plastic in their pens over other materials such as celluloid. Over time and exposure to the sun these plastics often shrink and become brittle, leaving many Eversharps in poor condition. This pen, however, is still in great shape! No cracks to speak of, and the cap still fits tight. There are a couple of small dings and tiny surface scratches, but nothing unexpected for a pen of this age. This pen has been fitted with a new sac and breather tube and writes like a champ! Capped, this pen measures 5.25″, which means it is the standard/full size version. A wonderful writer and a piece of history all in one. Pick this one up for $70 Email me at: RonsVintagePens@gmail.com

Sheaffer 1.5 mm Italic!

Here is another Sheaffer for you to check out. This one comes with a new converter so you can fill it with your favorite ink. This pen is equipped with a huge 1.5 mm italic nib. An Italic nib has more pronounced edges making its lines crisper than a stub. Unfortunately the crisper lines also mean not as smooth of a writing experience when compared to a stub. This isn’t a big deal with such a large nib. Nibs this size are more suited to careful lettering than casual writing.  Get this pen, with a brand new converter for $25 plus shipping!

What dents?

Here are a couple of pictures of a pen I just finished restoring for a customer. It was a nice first-year Parker 51 Aerometric (1948). I cannot completely remove the damage done by a dent, but I can drastically reduce them. Take a look.

[Sold! – Another Pen on its way to Taiwan!]Sheaffer Balance Vac-Fill – Extra Fine

Check out this Sheaffer Lifetime Balance (full length 5.25″, standard girth). Rather than the more common lever fill, this pen is equipped with a vacuum filler (also known as a piston filler). The vac-fill system was introduced to increase ink capacity and filling efficiency. Unfortunately, many vac-fillers are damaged beyond repair, but this one works like a charm! One or two cycles of the piston in a bottle of ink will fill this pen to capacity. The piston fillers also had a transparent barrel so you can easily see how much ink is in the pen. All of the seals have been replaced on this pen, and the nib adjusted and smoothed. Ready for years of service.

On the back side of the cap the plating is showing a little bit of corrosion. The blind cap is also missing a retaining nut that keeps the cap from being unscrewed from the piston rod. Neither of these defects detract from the function of the pen.

I received this pen for a bargain and I will pass those savings on. These pens regularly go for $80-$100. Grab this one for only $45 (+shipping)!
